STATE CHAMPIONS: AHS Field Hockey Wins Second Straight State Title

The Warriors beat Longmeadow 1-0 to finish off its undefeated season.

Nearly one year ago, the Andover High School Warriors won their after an undefeated, untied season.

This year, Andover went undefeated once again, tying only two squads throughout the year.

The culmination of the 2011 season came yesterday when Andover took on Longmeadow High at Worcester State University.

The first half was a scorless affair mounting more pressure on the athletes and creating more drama for the spectators. 

Andover had far more chances despite only having one goal reach the back of the net.

Longmeadow goalie Elizabeth Suschana made 18 saves on the afternoon. 

Her counterpart Shannon Tulley had to make only three.

In the second half it was Julia LeBlanc who got a pass from . LeBlanc stuffed it passed Suschana to give Andover the only goal of the day. 

In the last two seasons, the AHS field hockey has a combined record of 46-0-2 with a pair of state championships.
