John Tierney double-dealing on Obamacare

Saying one thing in Massachusetts, doing another thing in Washington D.C. That is pretty much how John Tierney plays his cards.

At home in Massachusetts, Tierney touts a letter he sent to Kathleen Sebelius, head of Health and Human Services. In that letter Tierney unsuccessfully asks that Massachusetts receive a permanent waiver from Obamacare.

But in Washington D.C. Tierney voted for Obamacare, voted against repealing Obamacare, and has now decided that it is better to shut down the government than it is to delay Obamacare and to require that Obamacare applies to Members of Congress in the same way that it does to everyone else.

Here’s the thing – if Tierney were seriously about exempting Massachusetts from Obamacare he could vote to repeal the law, or AT THE VERY LEAST delay it so that he could continue to seek a waiver.

But he won’t do that. Why? Because John Tierney would rather put the politics of the National Democratic Party over what is good for his state. After all, would Nancy Pelosi still come in and fundraiser for Tierney if he refused to vote the way she told him to?

Do not be fooled by Tierney’s deceptive rhetoric. His "efforts" to secure a waiver for Massachusetts are nothing more than political theater. His votes over the past several days prove that he will never abandon Washington D.C. Democrats, even if it means hurting the 6th District in the process.
