Halloween Parties for Families and Pets This Weekend in Andover

Your local guide to weekend fun.

The weekend is expected to be mild, with temperatures around 60 degrees and lots of clouds (possible rain shower or two) Sunday. Here are some suggestions on things to do in North Andover this weekend.

On Friday, Boston Sports Club will host "Parents Night Out," a chance for parents to leave the kids in good hands for a little while. They'll keep your kids active and entertained with fitness activities, crafts and games. The program is for ages 3-12.

Also on Friday, the Andover/North Andover YMCA will have their YMCA Family Costume Party at 6 p.m. All ages are welcome. There will be music, dancing, games, fortune telling, trick-or-treat around the Y, a costume contest and more.

The ACT Theater Company will perform "Les Miserables" at Andover High School all weekend: Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The production features a cast of more than 80 local residents.

Blue Dog Academy will have a "Howl-O-Ween Party & Open House" Saturday at 10 a.m. at their Andover location. There will be door prizes courtesy of Ciao! Bow Wow and there will be also be awards for the best costume.

On Sunday, there will be a "SpUUKy Sunday" Halloween party at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation. There will be games, treats, apple bobbing, a costume contest and more
