Andover Weekend: Art, Fro-Yo and Harvest Moon Fun

Your local guide to weekend fun.

Weather will be slightly unpredictable on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures in the low 80s and rain showers possible. But don't worry, there are things to do indoors and outdoors this weekend.

Art in the Park: The Andover Artists Guild will host "Art in the Park" Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at The Park. More than 50 artists will display and sell their original artwork.

Cosmic Party: The Shawsheen River Watershed Association will host its Third Annual Autumnal Equinox Celebration at Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pomps Pond Recreation Area. Admission is free and open to the public. There will be a program on astronomy, history and culture of the equinox; live music; boating; a campfire; a small charcoal fire for cooking (bring your own food); and more.

Back-to-School Party: To celebrate the new school year, Orange Leaf -- with help from Starbucks and Real School of Music -- will host a back-to-school bash Sunday. In addition to lots of fro-yo, there will be entertainment, give-aways, raffles and more.

Art Tour: If Saturday's Art in the Park leaves you wanting more art, head over to the Addison Gallery Sunday at 2 p.m., where there will be a Gallery Tour for "Natural Selections," a new exhibit featuring artists exploring the natural world.

Nutcracker Auditions: The Northeast Youth Ballet, under the artistic direction of Denise Cecere, will hold open auditions Sunday for its 2013 Holiday Classic "The Nutcracker," at Northeast School of Ballet, 32 Lowell St., Reading. Different age groups will audition at different times, so check the schedule before going.
