Smart Start Tutoring is owned and operated by Cathy Wallace. Wallace has been tutoring and teaching, and a resident of Andover, since the '80s. Smart Start provides elementary through college tutoring in reading, writing, study skills, foreign languages (Spanish, Latin and French), math, the sciences and other subject areas. Along with seven other staff with varied specialties, this company also provides preparatory courses for MCAS, SAT, PSAT/SAT and ACT. Wallace and her staff also offer college application essay tutoring. Smart Start Tutoring provides snacks to students that come directly after school.

My daughter took a Kaplan 8 week SAT course and we were disappointed in the scores on the first test. Cathy & staff worked with my daughter and improved her SAT scores by over 500 points overall. Cathy does a nice job of matching the student with just the right tutor for each individual's learning needs.
