New name, same commitment for Tewksbury band.
Sometimes small changes make a really big difference and for one Tewksbury band, Forget the Former, 2012 has been a year of reinventing, improving and building on their already solid reputation. On Thursday, they will perform at Patch's Battle of the Bands concert at The Harp in Boston along with The Truezoos and the winner of the Video Battle of the Bands, The President. Top finalists in Patch's Battle of the Bands representing Danvers, The Truezoos, will treat fans to a non-stop set of rock at The Harp on June 28.
No glitz, no glamour, no problem. For Sean O'Sullivan, Jeff Kereakoglow and Marc Hoffman, the three members of the up and coming rock band The Truezoos, it's all about the music. An Andover Senior Center musical group performed on Friday.
This was provided by Andover Senior Center's Acting Program Coordinator Karen Payne-Taylor. On Friday June 8 the Andover Senior Center’s Sunrise Singers, led by Linda Kirk and accompanied by Marcia Cutlip, performed at the West Parish Cemetery Chapel. Take a look at some photos of the concert as well as a photo of the outdoor garden talk given by Jim Batchelder, local historian. Event organizers say that fans of the show are already asking for a repeat performance next year.

An Andover band may soon get its first big break! Patch is holding a Video Battle of the Bands contest in which local bands will square off for musical supremacy. The Patch Video Battle of the Bands is the chance of a lifetime for local musicians. This is a chance for you and your bandmates to show off your abilities as musicians and earn some terrific prizes. The Department of Community Services' Summer Theatre Ensemble proudly presents the award winning Broadway musical “Hairspray” at the J Everett Collins Center for the Performing Arts at 80 Shawsheen Road. The Jazz Disciples get the park swinging in the town's summer concert series.
The Park was filled with friends and families that turned out in numbers to see a live concert Wednesday night. The evening starred the Jazz Disciples, a group of jazz players from South Church in Andover. The band played soulful blues and jazz numbers that were all crowd pleasers. The Concerts in the Park series will run on Wednesday evenings through Aug. 17 starting at 6 p.m. Check out the summer's line-up here.
