The photo posted yesterday showed the historic Abbott Academy on School Street.
This photo shows how this historic Abbott Academy building on School Street looks today. There are several buildings on the campus of the academy that merged with Phillips Academy in 1973. The historic photo was taken between 1900 and 1906. Andover Patch reader Paulette Zuena was the first to correctly answer this week's Then and Now feature. The historic photo yesterday captured the Andover Theological Seminary as it appeared while still located on the land of Phillips Academy Andover.
The historic photo posted yesterday showed the Andover Theological Seminary, located on the Phillips Academy Campus, as it appeared in the 1890s. Some of the Andover Theological Seminary buildings were relocated after the seminary moved to Cambridge in the 1920s. The current photo shows Pearson Hall (on the right). This building was formerly the seminary's Bartlet Chapel but was relocated in 1922. Thanks to all that participated in this week's Then and Now feature.
