Cons Com Issues Work-Stop Order on Taylor Cove

The Conservation Commission denied the application for Taylor Cove and ordered all work to be stopped on the River Street development.

Contractors won't be spending much time on the construction site at 93 River St. after town officials issued a stop-work order in conjunction with a long-standing development proposal. On Tuesday night, the Conservation Commission both denied an application for Taylor Cove and issued a work-stop permit for Victoria Place. The rulings come after the developers for Taylor Cove opted to withdraw their application for the development on June 22. The developers have expressed an interest to take the case to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, after refusing to participate any longer in the public hearing. Town Yard Task Force Weighing Five Possible Spots

The Town Yard Task Force is debating where the town should locate a new Town Yard.

The Town Yard Task Force has been continuing to mull the potential replacement of the Town Yard and is now considering five different locations for a new facility. The facility would replace the current town yard which is located on Lewis Street and has become insufficient to house the 50-plus town vehicles that reside there. The Lewis Street facility is only 33,000 square feet. The task force is aiming to find a space which they can present to the town, in hopes of getting it approved by the voters. Town officials are hoping that the issue can be voted on at next spring’s Annual Town Meeting. “We are confident that we aren’t going to present this before fall meeting,” said task force chairman Rick Feldman. “Our goal would likely be for a …
