How to Get Your Sports Team Featured on Patch

Here are several ways you can make sure your sports teams are highlighted on Andover Patch.

Spring sports will soon be kicking into high gear and Andover Patch wants to help you share every exciting moment with the community. We are looking for athletes, coaches, parents, booster club members and fans who are ready, willing and able to share their team spirit on Patch. News about any team -- high school, middle school, rec teams, etc. -- is welcome! Here's how you can share news about your sports team: 1. Start a blog about your sports team: Share stats, recaps, photos and/or videos from the game in your own sports blog. Discuss the team, coaches and players with other fans in the community. 2. Upload pictures and video of your team to our gallery: Snap an awesome photo at the game? Synchronized Swim Team to Put on Show in April

ANA Synchro, the Andover/North Andover YMCA’s synchronized swim team will perform its 38th annual show twice on Saturday, April 20 and again on Sunday, April 21.

ANA Synchro, the Andover/North Andover YMCA’s synchronized swim team will perform its 38th annual show twice on Saturday, April 20 and again on Sunday, April 21.  This event will feature 85 members of this nationally ranked team, including two ANA Synchro swimmers who are also US National Team members.  Because ANA Synchro spends much of the time on the road competing and training, traveling as far as Los Angeles, Arizona and to the well known, Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, this is a rare opportunity for the local community to see just what synchronized swimming is all about. The show will be held at the Andover/N. Andover YMCA on Saturday, April 20th at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 21 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available …

Andover Sending Four Teams to the Playoffs

Four Andover varsity sports teams are moving onto the playoffs in their divisions in Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.

There are just a bunch of proud Andover parents out there this week, with four Andover sports teams competing with the best in their division in the playoffs.  Both the girls and boys basketball teams as well girls gymnastics team are all scheduled to play this week in the first round of the MIAA playoffs. AHS Girls Ski Team Wins North Shore Tourney

The Andover High girls are now moving on the MIAA State Championship on Feb. 27.

The Andover High School girls ski team finished off their undefeated season with a clutch victory at the North Shore Interscholastics meet. This is the second year in a row the Andover squad took this championship.  Andover skiier Kerry Christopher took 1st, while teammates Julia Ganley and Sara Faigel finished 3rd and 5th, respectively. The team is now gearing up for the MIAA State Championships on Feb. 27 at Berkshire East Ski Area. The team consists of Sylvia Leung, Jackie Drew, Julia Ganley, Jessica Leung, Katie Lee, Lauren Buhrer, Sara Faigel and Kerry Christopher.

St. John's Prep Shuts Out Andover in Semifinal

St. John's Prep beat Andover Tuesday night, 21-0, in the Eastern Massachusetts Division 1 semifinal game.

Until the third quarter, the scoreboard remained blank in the Andover-St. John's Prep semifinal game Tuesday night. But then the St. John's Prep football team proceeded to score three times before the end of the game. The final score was 21-0, with St. John's Prep coming out victories against the Andover Warriors in the Eastern Massachusetts Division 1 semifinal game. St. John's will go on to play Brockton, who took down on Weymouth Tuesday, in the finals. For a full recap of Andover's semifinal game against St. John's Prep, check out the Patch live blog.

The Andover Warriors football team takes on St. John's Prep in the Eastern Massachusetts Division 1 Semifinals.

Going in with a 10-1-0 record in the regular season, the Warriors will be taking on St. John's Prep in the Eastern Massachusetts Division 1 Football semifinals Tuesday night. This live blog will cover all of the action tonight, minute by minute. The game begins at 7:45 p.m. at Cawley Stadium in Lowell.

Warriors Face St. John's Prep in North Semifinals

After defeating Central Catholic during the Thanksgiving Day game, the Golden Warriors will face St. John's Prep in the Semifinal game Tuesday night.

The Warriors are striving for the finals after taking down Central last week. But before they get there they'll need to topple the St. John's Prep football team Tuesday night in the North Semifinals. Andover and St. John's Prep will meet tomorrow night at, Nov. 27, 7:45 p.m. at Cawley Stadium in Lowell.  In the Merrimack Valley Conference, the Andover varsity football team is 5-1-0 in their league and 10-1-0 overall. Andover Takes Down Central in Thanksgiving Game, Advances to Playoffs

The Andover High School Warriors battled the Central Catholic football sqaud Thanksgiving Day morning and came out victorious.

The Warriors took down Central Catholic Thanksgiving Day morning, 22-19, after playing a close game in front of a crowd of nearly 7,000 at Lovely Stadium at the high school. The turkey day win will also push the Warriors into the Division 1 playoffs. They will face St. John's Prep on Tuesday in the north semi-finals. Warriors defensive coordinator Shawn Theriault said that the team was able to get ahead of Central when, after scoring their second touchdown, they faked a field goal and went for the 2-point conversion to put Raiders out of reach. Andover Resident Receives Game Jersey at Foxborough

Andover resident Anne Thiam went to a New England Revolution game and came home with a game-worn jersey.

Andover resident Anne Thiam received a game-worn jersey from New England Revolution player Kevin Alston following the New England Revolution – Chicago Fire game at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Sat., Oct. 20. Thiam was one of 18 lucky season ticket holders selected to receive game-worn jerseys as part of Fan Appreciation Night. The winners also had the opportunity to meet the players on the Gillette Stadium field following the game.
