School Committee Approves Anti-Bully Plan as Deadline Nears
The Andover School Committee unanimously approved an Anti-Bully plan to meet the requirements of a new state law
The Andover School Committee voted unanimously in favor of a new anti-bullying plan meant to conform to a new state law a little more than two weeks from the deadline. Among may goals and objectives, the plan is meant to promote a uniform level of respect among students and all other stakeholders in the school system. Since August, a wide-variety of individuals involved with Andover public schools have been working in an Anti-Bullying Task Force to develop the plan. The School Committee voted 4 to 0 in favor of the plan. Member David Birnbach was absent. An advisory committee will be formed in the next few weeks to begin implementation of the plan.
