Three Arrested for Driving Illegally on Monday

The following information was supplied by the Andover Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public. Sunday, June 2 At 8:35 p.m. a caller reported possible building fire on Memorial Circle. The alarm was caused by smoke from cooking. At 1:57 p.m. a caller reported that she spilt muriatic acid in her back seat, which also contains pool cleaners. The Fire Department responded and the police assisted. The Fire Department had the situation under control after arrival.  At 2:10 p.m. a caller reported an unattended backpack next to the ATM in Downtown Andover. An officer checked the area but did not locate the backback.  Monday, June 3  At 3:04 p.m. police arrested Gary Christopher, 26, of 23 Conte Drive, Methuen, on Haverhill Street. The police logs for Wednesday, June 8, contained several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public. At 3:10 p.m. police arrested Rhadames A. Lachapel, 60, 169 Salem St., Lawrence, on River Road. Lachapel was charged with driving with a license revoked for an operating under the influence conviction. At 3:11 a.m. a caller reported that the railroad gates at Essex Street were stuck in the down position. The problem was eventually fixed. At 10:32 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Dascomb Road. At 10:41 a.m. police reported a manhole cover that is caving in on Haverhill Street. The police logs for Tuesday, June 7, contained several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public. At 2:58 a.m. a caller reported a group of kids smoking around a construction site on Morton Street. At 3:46 a.m. a stolen car was reported on North Main Street. It was reported stolen from Methuen. At 7:37 a.m. a caller reported his vehicle was broken into on North Main Street. The ignition was also popped out. At 10:07 a.m. a two-car motor vehicle accident was reported on Essex Street. At 11:43 a.m. a bad check scam was reported on Grandview Terrace. At 12:18 p.m. Bella Beads reported ID theft on Main Street. At 4:55 p.m. a two-car accident with injuries was reported on Haverhill Street.

Monday, April 11 At 5:42 p.m. police arrested Maria Caruso, 47, of 172 Haverhill St., Apt. 237, on North Main Street. Caruso was charged with assault and battery on a household member, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct. At 8:53 a.m. a motor vehicle accident was reported on William Street and Poor Street. No injuries were reported. At 9:15 a.m. a caller reported a sick coyote on Abbot Street. Cabrera, 40, of 320 Lawrence St., Lawrence, on Lowell Street. Cabrera was charged with speeding in violation with a special regulation, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license – subsequent offense, operating under the influence of liquor and an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle. At 5:59 a.m. an employee of the La Quinta Inn reported that staff found firearm ammunition in a bible and were asking police to dispose of it. An officer retrieved the ammunition. The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public. Monday, March 28 At 6:48 a.m. an officer reported a possibly stolen vehicle on Campanelli Road. The vehicle turned out to not be stolen. At 8:16 a.m. a minor motor vehicle accident was reported on Interstate 93. At 11:52 a.m. the gate at Pomps Pond was unlocked and opened without knowledge of the town. Town workers closed the gate, but the lock was missing. The Plant and Facilities Department staff were notified. At 1:44 p.m. a road rage incident was reported on Route 125. N.H. Woman Charged with Trafficking Heroin

It was good old-fashioned police work that resulted in the arrest of one woman and the seizure of over an ounce of heroin.

A New Hampshire woman may be facing prison time after Andover Police discovered over an ounce of heroin in her vehicle Wednesday. During a routine motor vehicle stop on Haverhill Street in the early afternoon, Andover Police Officer Jake Delaney recognized a suspicious smell coming from the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, Delaney found both heroin and marijuana, which was individually packaged. Police then arrested operator Anny Cruz, 28, 247 Concord St., Manchester, N.H. Cruz was charged with possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute and trafficking heroin. Cruz is being arraigned this morning at Lawrence District Court. Police Lt. Harry Collins said that police found in excess of 28 grams of heroin, or an ounce, in…

Chemical Accident Injures Two on Frontage Road

Monday, March 21 At 10:15 a.m. a woman came into the police station to report that another woman punched her in the face at Richdale’s on Railroad Street. The other woman also came into the station to report the incident to police. At 10:59 a.m. police reported damage to property at the United Lebanese Cemetery on Corbett Street. At 12:11 p.m. police arrested Michael Godin, 52, of 132 Foster St., Lawrence, on North Main Street.
