Feaster Five Draws Record Numbers

More than 10,000 participants turned out for Andover's 23rd annual Feaster Five Road Race

Thanksgiving morning may have brought frigid weather, but that didn't stop 10,123 people from getting out and running in this year's Feaster Five Road Race. The race, consisting of both a 5K run and 5-mile run, began at the intersection of Route 133 and Main Street and looped around to finish in Brickstone Square. The event was first created in 1987 to encourage people to get out of the house on Thanksgiving for a fun, family event. However, it is also charitable effort, with registration fees benefiting the Merrimack Valley Hospice, Merrimack Valley YMCA and the Merrimack Valley Striders, the running club that officially hosts the race.
