DA Looks to Public in Double Homicide Case

The Essex County DA is asking the public for help in solving the nearly one-year old double homicide in Andover on Orchard Crossing.

Two Andover residents were found shot dead in their home one year ago this Friday on Orchard Crossing. With no updates on the case since the day of the murders, the Essex Country District Attorney and Andover Police Chief are now looking to the public for possibly critical information that could help find those responsible. “We are asking anyone who has any information no matter how seemingly insignificant to please contact us,” Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett said.  “Often in a homicide investigation, there are people who have information but may not realize its relevance or importance to the investigation.  At this point, any and all information is important.” John "Jack" and Geraldine Magee were found dead in their Old …

Authorities Still Silent on Double Homicide Investigation

Over four months later, police have no updates on the double homicide in December and would not comment the investigation's activity in Florida.

Andover authorities are continuing to decline to comment in regards to the December double homicide on Orchard Crossing and would not speak to activity related to the investigation, including a trip to Florida for the investigation.  Since providing two statements on the day of the incident the Andover Police Department and Essex County District Attorney's office said they will not release any more information about the investigation into the murders of John "Jack" Magee, 69, and Geraldine Magee, 67. In the last statement made by authorities, police said they had no suspects. The couple's daughter, Holly Magee Senykoff, discovered her parents shot dead in the first floor of the south Andover mansion on Dec. 15 of last year. Their black …

I live in Andover, quite near to this murder scene and have wondered frequently how all these months later this case appears to have gone cold. However, having said that, this could be be FAR more complicated than would appear, the MOB hit is an easy obvious theory, but the real question is - why were they a MOB target. Someone VERY close to them knows much more than has been reported. Good …   more ›

Update on Murders Unlikely Until Investigation End

Police investigators say that new information on the Orchard Crossing double homicide will not be released until the investigation is complete.

Any new details about the December murders of John and Geraldine Magee are not expected anytime soon from police investigators, which includes the Andover Police and the Essex County District Attorney's office. The husband and wife were found shot dead in their Orchard Crossing mansion in mid-December. Their black Lexus was found burnt the night before in the North End of Boston. However, since press conferences on the day the bodies were discovered, police have not released a shred of new information on the homicides. This, local and county investigators say, is standard operating procedure for an investigation. "It’s absolutely normal," said Essex County District Attorney spokesman Steve O'Connell. "We don’t comment on an ongoing …

No New Developments in Double Homicide

Police are still asking for help from the public.

Police are continuing to release little information on the investigation into the double fatal shooting reported on Orchard Crossing in Andover in mid-December. Authorities are still claiming to have no suspects the chilling incident that left local developer John Magee and his wife Geraldine dead. The couple's daughter found them shot in a room on the first floor of their sprawling mansion in south Andover. Police say that investigators are releasing little about the case. "They are keeping this close to the vest," said Police Lt. John Pathiakis.  Those close to the investigation have reported that there was no forced entry into the house and the scene was cleaned up by whomever committed the vicious act. The couple's black Lexus was also…

Hi Del, Thanks for the comment. Also, it seems as though the police are being extra cautious about releasing information, as stated in the article. So, it doesn't look like we'll be getting any more information unless they make an arrest.   more ›
