A 71-year-old Andover woman may be the first Massachusetts patient connected to the fungal Meningitis outbreak linked to a steroid shot that has now been recalled.
An elderly woman from Andover may be the first case of fungal meningitis in Massachusetts that is linked to the recalled steroid shot produced by a Framingham pharmaceutical firm at the center of a state investigation, according to an article on WBZ-Boston. The 71-year-old Andover woman reportedly received a shot of a steroid in early fall that may have been the recalled product.
