Ammunition Found in Bible at La Quinta Inn

The police log for Thursday, March 31, contained two arrests and several small incidents.

The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public. Thursday, March 31 At 3:05 a.m. police arrested Luis A. Cabrera, 40, of 320 Lawrence St., Lawrence, on Lowell Street. Cabrera was charged with speeding in violation with a special regulation, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license – subsequent offense, operating under the influence of liquor and an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle. At 5:59 a.m. an employee of the La Quinta Inn reported that staff found firearm ammunition in a bible and were asking police to dispose of it. An officer retrieved the ammunition. The following are excerpts from the Andover Police log. The log is open to the public. Monday, March 14 At 6:13 a.m. State Police reported a three-car crash in the area of Interstate 93 and Route 133. At 6:51 a.m. a caller reported hitting a deer with a motor vehicle on Route 125. An officer could not locate the animal. At 8:23 a.m. an injured owl was reported on Tech Drive. An officer transported the owl to Andover Animal Hospital. At 9:10 a.m. vandalism at the Doherty Middle School was reported. At 10:23 a.m. a caller reported an accident involving a car hitting a tree on River Road. The Thursday, Dec. 30 police logs contain two arrests and several small incidents.

Thursday, Dec. 30 From noon until nearly 3 p.m., police performed various liquor license checks throughout the town. At 12:34 p.m. police stopped Alexander Hernandez in the area of 30 River Road. Hernandez, 39, of 8 Fairway Drive, was arrested and charged with speeding and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense. At 3:25 p.m. police stopped Pedro Bermudez Gonzalez in the area of 287 North Main Street. Gonzalez was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, attaching wrong plates to a motor vehicle and an uninspected motor vehicle. Wednesday, Dec. 28 Police received calls throughout Tuesday morning regarding snow drifting on plowed roads throughout various places in Andover. At 5:27 p.m. police reported that a car was stuck in a snow bank on High Plain Road. The motor vehicle was able to get out by the time an officer arrived. At 8:24 a.m. a caller reported a tree that was on a phone wire on Salem Street. Police notified National Grid and Verizon. At 10:02 a.m. a broken railroad gate was reported on Burtt Road at Pfizer.  Monday, Dec. 27 At 6:07 a.m. the traffic lights at Shawsheen Square on Haverhill Street were not working properly. Traffic going westbound on Haverhill Street was not triggering the green light. At 6:22 a.m. police reported a vehicle stuck in an median strip on Dascomb Road. A responding officer saw no vehicle when arriving at the scene. At 11:04 a.m. a caller reported a confrontation between a resident and a plow operator on Summer Street. At 1:16 p.m. a caller reported a two-car accident on the bridge on Harold parking Road. The Wednesday, Dec. 23 police log contains one arrest and several small incidents.

Wednesday, Dec. 23 At 12:50 a.m. A caller reported that two boys were walking on the side of the road from the Raytheon Area on Lowell Street and attempted to flag the caller down. The caller, who was driving, commented about not wanting to stop and being scared. An officer could not locate the boys. At 2:11 a.m. an employee at the Mayo Medical Clinic reported a suspicious gray Toyota that was waiting at the end of the driveway on Dascomb Road. The employee that the individual was a "look-out" for some type of crime. The subject was a snow removal person that was waiting for his boss. The animal control officer was notified. At 9:22 a.m. a father called about annoying text messages received by his 12-year-old daughter on Nollet Drive. An officer filed the incident. At 9:55 a.m. a passing motorist saw a bow hunter enter the woods near High Plain Road. His vehicle was parked on the side of the roadway. The responding officer said that the subject was gone on arrival. At 11:43 a.m. a resident on Bellevue Road states that a wild animal is on is front steps and is unable to get into his home. The responding officer reported that the wild animal, a baby fox, was gone on arrival. At 11:50 a.m. a caller reported a roadway cover to a gas line came up and was lying in a roadway. Monday, Dec. 20 At 2:18 a.m. police assisted with a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 93. The occupant of a vehicle in the crash was seen running away from the scene. A front desk clerk at La Quinta Hotel said a man came in to ask the front desk to call a cab recently. Liberty Cab said that they brought the man to Crescent Street. State Police followed up. At 7:02 a.m. a Stirling Street resident reported that his car was broken into over the night. An officer filed the report. An officer reported that the bill was fine and that the cab driver did not realize that there were two different styles of the $10 bill. At 12:57 p.m. a caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident on Haverhill Street. No injuries were reported and one motor vehicle was towed. An officer filed the incident.
