Andover Natives In MLB Draft
Andover High and St. John's Prep grads in the MLB draft this week.
Two Andover natives may be drafted into Major League Baseball this week. Andover High graduate and The College of William & Mary student John Farrell, 21, and St. John's Prep graduate and Vanderbilt student Michael Yastrzemski, 20, are both on the list as possible draft picks. Yastrzemski, son of Mike and Anne-Marie Yastrzemski, is the grandson of Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski. The draft started yesterday and will continue today at noon and Wednesday at noon. Michael's father was a third-round draft pick by the Atlanta Braves in 1984 and played for the White Sox at the Triple-A level.
