Bergeron Sees a Bright Future for Andover Athletics

Andover Athletic Director Christopher Bergeron resigned recently and will move to South Carolina after four years with the Warriors.

After four years as Andover High School’s Athletic Director Christopher Bergeron has resigned. Bergeron’s legacy featured triumphant athletic highs as well as a major low last winter when members of the boys basketball team were involved in a sexual hazing incident at Stonehill College. “It’s very bittersweet because I love Andover, I love the coaches, I love the program, and the student athletes,” Bergeron said. His regime was highlighted by three consecutive Division 1 girls basketball state titles and two consecutive Division 1 field hockey state titles. Bergeron cited “Walking on the Garden floor with the girls basketball team,” as one of many favorite memories in his four years with Andover. Andover High produced one of the state’s …

11-0 Warriors Host 0-12 Lawrence Tomorrow

The Lady Warriors haven’t lost a game in almost an entire year.

The Lady Warriors of the court are 11-0 and they have not lost a game in almost an entire calendar year. The last time the Andover girls took the court and lost a game was way back on February 6, 2011. That was their only loss of the 2010-11 season. Andover lost to Central Catholic on that day. It was only a four point loss, but that served to motivate the Warriors to a second consecutive state championship run. This year, Andover is again ranked as the best team in the state according to ESPNBoston.com. Last week, the Warriors thrashed a helpless Dracut squad in a 35 point rout. Nicole Boudreau scored 30 points and drained four three-pointers as the Warriors beat up Dracut on their own court, 82-47. Devon Caveney added 13 points. Tomorrow…
