I've never thought of getting cotton candy outside of a state fair, but Washington Street's Candy Pop Sweet Shoppe has added more than a dozen flavors of the stuff. The new MinuteClinic at CVS can handle a whole range of ailments at short notice.
The new MinuteClinic in Andover offers area residents a walk-in medical clinic that treats acute illnesses every day of the week. The clinic is designed to treat the sore throats, sinus infections or ear problems that can't wait. "When you're sick you really don't want to wait a few days for your doctor," said clinic practice manager Rene White. "They can come here with no appointment, walk in and we will send their doctor a note saying everything we did," said White. White continued to say that the MinuteClinic is not designed to replace the current practices in Andover, just fill in when they are needed. "We like to work with their providers. Check out three items served at Palmers Restaurant the Dishcrawl held in Andover last week.
Roughly 40 people got together to take part in a downtown Andover "Dishcrawl" Tuesday night with a new start-up that has been doing these food-crawls in over 100 cities throughout the country. Palmers Restaurant was the first stop on the dishcrawl and they served three appetizing starters, which included deep-fried shrimp, signature crabcakes and oysters.
Dylan's Bar & Grill owner Sam Petrovich, and others, invented a new app for iPhones that helps keep track of inventory for a bar or tavern.

Andover business owners Sam Petrovich and Jeannie Cahill of Dylan's Bar & Grill, and Kumar Babu of Ccuneus Solutions, have joined forces to introduce Taverntory, a new App for taking bar and tavern inventories. "We wanted an easy to use, inexpensive alternative to doing manual entry inventory control, something you can do yourself with just your iPhone camera," said Petrovich, who added, "With Taverntory, we can do our inventory in a fraction of the time it used to take, and without the errors." In addition to scanning and interpreting barcodes, the App uploads inventories to either a Mac or PC where it creates spreadsheets that compute liquor sales and costs. The Real School of Music celebrated their grand opening
The Real School of Music opened in Dundee Park this past weekend with a full line-up of musical acts from students as well as notable musician Robin Lane. The school provides music instruction for a wide-variety of instruments in an environment that boasts a real-life rock band experience. The new music school facility boasts not only a dozen state of the art rooms for music instruction complete with instruments and computers, but also provides a an actual rock venue. The live music room, with seating for 100 and a stage built for a full band, provides students with the experience of not only playing with other musicians in a band but also playing live for audience.
