Andover's Megan Keefe had a hat trick on a day when Westford Academy was still looking rusty after the effects of last week's storm.
The Warriors Field Hockey team took down Westford, 3-0, Friday night following a week of power outages that surely affected team preparations. Keefe finished off the hat trick five minutes after the half, but the Grey Ghosts seemed like they would get on the board as momentum turned in the home stretch, but ultimately Westford couldn’t capitalize on the swing. From here, Andover will seek to continue their undefeated season on Sunday afternoon at home against Lincoln-Sudbury, a contest that Andover coach Maureen Noone isn’t looking past by any means. “We just have to go …

With roughly a week left in their regular seasons, the field hockey and girls soccer teams are both in a strong position to finish the season without losing a single game. Field Hockey The squad is 13-0-1 and you would have to go back to 2009 on the calendar to find their last loss. You can see this amazing team in action this evening in Lowell when they play the Red Raiders at 6 p.m. Most recently, the Warriors have ripped off four straight wins against Central Catholic, Methuen, Lawrence, and Chelmsford. Coming off an undefeated, State-Championship season, Andover field hockey has outscored its opponents 22-0 through four games this season.
Someone would have to search back an entire calendar year to find the last time the Andover High School field hockey team lost a game. The Warriors went 24-0 last season to capture the Division 1 state title over Algonquin, and have started the 2011 season 4-0. The latest win in the series came against Manchester-Essex at home on Wednesday night, 5-0. Less than two-minutes into the game, Andover’s Meagan Keefe took a pass from Jacklyn Torres and slid home the first goal to put the Warriors up 1-0. Then it was like the field was tilted toward the Hornets goal. Andover began to put the pressure on the M-E defenders, who could not manage to get the ball past midfield. Keefe struck again 4:55 into the first half, after trading swipes with …
