Friday, May 17 At 12:29 p.m. police arrested Alexis Raul Gonzalez, of 107 Margin St., Apt. 1, Lawrence, on Main Street. Gonzalez was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a marked lanes violation. At 11:08 p.m. police stopped a New Hampshire resident who said she was lost and appeared to be under the influence of a substance. Police eventually arrested Krystal Duval, 21, of 16 Frost Road, Derry, N.H., on River Street. Duval was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, possession of a class E substance and possession of a class A substance. North Andover and Andover Fire helped remove an injured mountain biker from a remote location in Harold Parker Forest earlier Sunday morning.
Andover Fire received a call Sunday morning regarding a mountain biker that took hard spill on a steep trail in Harold Parker Forest. With the biker found to be in North Andover, both town's Fire staff worked to locate the injured man, who was more than a mile from the trail entrance on Middleton Road. According to North Andover Fire Lt. Graham Rowe, emergency staff first got the call around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and Andover Police were first to arrive. "He sustained a pretty good knock on the head," Lt. Rowe. After North Andover Fire came shortly, staff from both had to prepare the victim to be treated by paramedics. Tuesday, April 30 At 4:07 p.m. a caller reported that a man in his early 30s was urinating on his neighbor's lawn on Basswood Lane. He left the area in a silver Lexus with two other male passengers. At 6:31 p.m. a female caller reported that she was in a car with her boyfriend and he will not let her out. The female was eventually6 dropped off at her workplace and an officer spoke with the boyfriend. The boyfriend was given a verbal warning for domestic abuse. All lanes of I-93 through Andover are now open but a multi-vehicle accident around 5 p.m. closed all northbound lanes and back traffic up 11 miles.
Police have reported that multi-vehicles, one being a garabage truck were involved in an accident on Interstate 93 near exit 43 this afternoon. Shortly after the accident, police closed all northbound lane at the one section of Interstate 93 in Andover, backing up traffic close to 11 miles. Initial reports state that the accident involved a tractor-trailer and a garabge truck, and that there was a possibility of fuel leakage into the ground. Police also said several other vehicles were involved as well. Check back with Andover Patch for updates.

Andover Police charged three Andover teenagers this past weekend with possession of bombs made out of two-liter soda bottles. Police found the bombs, made from soda bottles, at a soccer field on Cross Street. Police arrested Charlie Watson, 17, of 66 Chandler Road, Michael Frio, 18, of 7 Ivanhoe Lanen and Josef Mazzuchi, 17, of 4 Penni Lane. All three were charged with throwing or placing explosives. The three allegedly placed bombs, made from drain cleaner and 2-liter bottles, near Soccer fields on Cross Street.

Andover resident Julia Hsia shared her first-hand account of her experience of the Boston Marathon explosions. While she had been volunteering near the finish line, she had gone out to lunch at the Top of the Hub. This was her account: Just about the time we finished eating, we heard 2 booms, very much like distant thunder. We went over to the window and did not see anything unusual, partly because we were too high up and could not hear anything. After we came down to the street level, there were tons of people walking here and there but no panic; no running. There were policmen directing traffic and helping us cross the streets. An Andover runner and spectator give their first-hand accounts of what happened when they were at the Boston Marathon and the explosions went off.
It's almost two days after the bombs went off but New England is still reeling from the devestating blasts that hit the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon. And Andover residents are among those with fresh memories that cannot be un-done.
