Construction on Haverhill Street to Last Through Next Week

Columbia Gas is replacing pipes between North Main Street and Riverina Road

The system line for the gas main underneath Haverhill Street is being replaced and construction is expected to be completed by the end of next week according to Columbia Gas. Columbia is replacing the gas main on Haverhill Street in between North Main Street and Riverina Road. Columbia is replacing a cast iron pipe with plastic pipe as the iron pipes are beginning to get outdated. The north lane on Haverhill Street is closed and drivers are being instructed to take South Main Street to Balmoral Street, and then take a left onto York Street before turning right onto Haverhill Street to avoid the detour. The construction started roughly two weeks ago and it will be a four week project if it wraps up as scheduled on next Friday.
