Snow Parking Ban in Effect During Snow Emergencies

The town wants to remind residents and businesses of the snow parking ban during snow emergencies in Andover.

This was provided by the town of Andover. During a Snow Emergency Parking Ban, as declared by the Andover Police Department, there will be no parking allowed on any streets in Andover, except for public safety, public works and public utility vehicles. Also, no vehicles shall be parked or positioned at anytime in such a manner as to interfere with snow removal and sanding operations. Vehicles in violation of these rules shall be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. Snow Emergencies will be announced on two public access television stations (Comcast Ch. 22 and Verizon Ch. 45) and posted on the Town website at andoverma.gov. UPDATE: 900 Homes Still Without Power

More than 90 percent of Andover homes now have power.

National Grid recently restored power to around 500 more customers, leaving  only 900 to go. National Grid is now reporting that Andover should have full power restored by Thursday at 11:45 p.m. National Grid currently said they are confident that they will have all power restored by Thursday night. Specifically, 930 customers are without power in Andover, with a total of 13,000 customers. The town offices have been opened back up as well as the Senior Center. Police are reporting that trash pickup will be on a normal schedule this week but trucks may be delayed due to downed trees. However, they will return when the given road is passable. Andover received roughly 5 inches of snow two days before Halloween in a snow storm that will go down in history books. Over 90 percent of the town was without power and roadblocks are common in any given neighborhood. Snow Parking Ban in Effect

The Town of Andover has issued a snow parking on all streets in Andover.

Snowtober is in full effect and so is the new parking ban that Andover tried out for the first time during last season's snow barrage. Check the Andover Police website for the latest status on the snow parking ban. Here is a release provided by the town of Andover: A Snow Parking Ban is currently in effect for all streets in Andover. No vehicles shall be parked overnight on any street, or positioned in any driveway or lot at anytime in such a manner as to interfere with snow removal and sanding operations.
