The Andover National baseball team visited the State House today in a meet and greet with Governor Deval Patrick.
The state champion Andover National little league baseball team had a chance to meet Deval Patrick at the State House Thursday morning. The kids, coaches, and parents gathered for a ceremony in the Governor's Council Chamber where Governor Patrick recognized them for their outstanding achievements this season.

The governor will be meeting with the stars of the Andover Nationals baseball team, who made it to the Little League World Series semi-finals in Connecticut.
Governor Deval Patrick will be meeting with the Andover National youth baseball team today at the State House to recognize their accomplishments in making it to the semi-finals of the Little League World Series. The event, which is open to the public, takes place today, Thursday, Oct. 6, at 9 a.m. at the Governor's Council Chambers at the State House in Boston. The Nationals stole our hearts this summer with their “loosey goosey” attitude, slugging offense, and precise pitching. One game away from the Little League World Series, the Nationals stalled down in Bristol, CT, and fell to Cumberland, RI. Andover National’s season may have ended on a sour note, but their season was filled with some incredible moments. Here are Andover Patch’s top three moments from the Nationals’ unforgettable run. 3. Rhode Island team explodes for 13 runs and knocks Andover out of tournament.
Andover National's dream season came to an end Saturday afternoon as Cumberland, RI, beat the Massachusetts state champs 13-7 in Bristol, CT. Cumberland will now head to Williamsport, PA, for the Little League World Series. Andover jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Cumberland stormed back and opened up a big lead. Andover National fought back and closed the game to 10-7 before Cumberland pulled away in the fifth with three more runs. Check back to Andover Patch for more about Andover National.

Andover National, the District 14, Section 4, and Massachusetts state champions are one win away from the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. Today at 1 p.m., the Nationals take on Cumberland, RI in the New England Championship game to be held in Bristol, CT. The six-team tournament has now been shaved down to two, as Andover National upset Goffstown, NH, Thursday in the semifinals. Cumberland paved its way through to the championship game by edging Fairfield, CT, by the score of 8-7 on Thursday. Andover National faced Cumberland last Saturday in its first game of the sectional tournament. Cumberland came away with a close 5-3 win. Nationals meet Rhode Island Saturday with a trip to Little League World Series on the line.
BRISTOL, Conn. – Cedric Gillette was sharp and the New Hampshire defense wasn’t. The combination of those two forces spelled success for the Andover National Little League Thursday night in the New England Regional Little League semifinals. Gillette struck out nine over five innings and previously undefeated New Hampshire’s defense committed seven errors as Andover advanced to the final against Rhode Island with a 9-4 victory at Breen Field. Andover, seeded fourth in New England’s final four, will meet Cumberland American Little League on Saturday at 1 p.m. in a game to be televised on ESPN2.
