VIDEO: Warriors Win State Title Over Holyoke

The Andover girls won their third consecutive state championship on Saturday.

At the DCU Center in Worcester on Saturday, Andover High hauled in its third straight state championship. The Warriors finished the season 27-0. Andover's win featured senior Nicole Boudreau scoring 31 points and the Warriors clinching the win with a 16-3 third quarter run. Click here to read an article about yesterday's game.

STATE CHAMPIONS: Warriors Win Third Straight State Title

Andover finished an undefeated season by winning its third consecutive state championship over Holyoke.

History was made at the DCU Center last night. "We're good," said Andover High coach Jim Tildsley after the state title game. "I mean we're very talented but we're mentally tough," he continued. Down by a pair at halftime, the Warriors clinched the state title with a 16-3 third quarter surge. "We could have packed it in a couple times and we didn't," said Tildsley. His squad won their third consecutive state title 61-45 to close the book on a remarkable high school basketball dynasty. "Three in a row and the icing on the cake is to go undefeated," Tildsley said. Andover finished the 2011-12 campaign 27-0. Warriors Crush Central, Advance to North Championship

The Lady Warriors remained undefeated and advanced to their third straight North title game.

"It doesn't get old," said Andover head coach Jim Tildsley after his Warriors thumped their rivals from Central Catholic to advance into their third consecutive Division 1 North Championship game. It was the fourth time this season that the Warriors have been able to put the clamps down on the Red Raiders. Andover's record remains unblemished at 23-0. "These kids are pretty focused," said Tildsley, whose squad is eyeing a third straight state title. "There's so much pressure on these kids with people going 'three-peat, three-peat,'" Tildsley said. Warriors Crush Methuen

All of the key players contributed in a blowout win.

The Andover football Warriors are 5-2 after a 52-13 drubbing of Methuen last night.  The evening was highlighted by five interceptions including a pick-six by defensive back Andrew Deloury.  Andrew Coke picked up two second quarter touchdowns, and Cam Farnham returned a punt for a touchdown.  Will Heikkinen continued his streak of having a touchdown in every game this season with a 20 yard catch in the third quarter.  Jack Sylvester got in on the scoring with a 26 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.  The 5-2 Warriors begin the home stretch of their season next week at Dracut. The will close the season out with games against Billerica, Lowell, and Central Catholic.

Field Hockey and Swim Teams Remain Undefeated

Both won yesterday to keep their unbeaten streaks alive.

Field Hockey The Lady Warriors not only beat Chelmsford Monday night, but they also held their opponents scoreless for the sixth consecutive game this season. Andover beat Chelmsford 3-0. Two goals came from Taylor Farris and one came from Meagan Keefe. Anne Farnham had a pair of assists and Shannon Tully made five saves in her sixth shutout.  Andover is 6-0 and has won 30 games in a row overall. The Warriors will travel to North Andover for a game on Wednesday afternoon. Swimming The girls swim team also won their sixth in a row yesterday. Andover hosted and beat Belmont yesterday by the score of 96-82. Andover's top performers included Maeve Awiszus who won the 200 meter freestyle in 2:05.37. Girls Soccer, Swimming, and Field Hockey Stay Undefeated

All three teams came away with wins yesterday.

Girls Soccer With a 4-0 blanking of Haverhill, the Lady Warriors soccer team improved its record to 5-0-1. The Warriors have not given up a goal in their past five games (all wins). Emily Van Antwerp, Hannah LeBlanc, Devon Caveney, and Sophie Draper all scored for the Warriors. Goalkeeper Emily Wilson did not even face a shot on goal. The Warriors look to try and stay undefeated at Central Catholic tomorrow. Field Hockey A 6-0 win over the Lawrence Lancers helped the field hockey team improve to 3-0 on the season.  Andover has not given up a goal in its three games this season against Tewksbury, Methuen, and now Lawrence. VIDEO: Andover Football Improves to 2-0

The Warriors beat up Gloucester on Friday night.

Andy Coke and the Warriors got a long awaited win in Gloucester on Friday, taking it to the Fishermen to the tune of 33-16. Coke carried the ball on the Warriors’ first play from scrimmage and took it 65 yards to the house for a 6-0 lead. Mark Zavri had a pair of field goals including a 45 yard strike to give Andover a 17-8 lead going into halftime. After the break, C.J. Scarpa picked up a touchdown pass on a playaction toss to Will Heikkinen in the third quarter. Coke found the end-zone again in the fourth scoring from 16 yards out. He finished the night with three touchdowns and 198 rushing yards. That outdid the entire Gloucester team as the Fishermen ran for 113 yards on the night. Warriors Crush Gloucester for Second Win

Andy Coke ran for 198 yards and 3 touchdowns in another Warrior win.

”Everything’s good in Andover right now,” said star senior Andy Coke after torching the Gloucester defense for 198 yards and three touchdowns last night. Coke carried the ball on the first play from scrimmage for 65 yards straight to the house to put Andover up 6-0 en route to a 33-16 dissection of Gloucester. The first play from scrimmage was a quarterback option. Coke, lined up as a quarterback, faked a hand-off and was off to the races to set the tone.   “We knew we were going to call it the day before the game,” Coke said. “I kind of had a feeling I was going to score,” he continued. “There was no safety over the middle so once I passed the first line I didn’t think anyone was going to catch me,” said the superstar senior about the …

Athlete of the Week: Anne Farnham

Farnham and the Warriors field hockey team are 2-0 this season.

Anne Farnham, a key component of last year's Division 1 state championship winning team, is this week's athlete of the week. Farnham scored a pair of goals on Wednesday to lead Andover over Methuen in a 6-0 victory.  So far through two games, Farnham and the Warriors have yet to give up a goal and have outscored their opponents (Tewksbury and Methuen) 11-0.  The field hockey Warriors play at Lawrence on Tuesday afternoon as they continue their journey towards another state title.

Field Hockey and Volleyball Teams Claim Shutouts

Both AHS soccer teams are in action today.

Field Hockey The defending state champion Warriors have picked up right where they left of in 2010. Yesterday at Methuen, they beat the Rangers 6-0. Anne Farnham scored a pair of goals as did Meagan Keefe. Jaclyn Torress and Julia LeBlanc also scored. Taylor Farris had a pair of assists. Shannon Tully and Nicole Schena each split time in goal to pick up the shutout.  Andover is now 2-0 on the season.  Girls Volleyball Andover improved to 2-0 on the season by beating Tewksbury 3-0 yseterday. In Tewksbury, the girls took the first set 25-21, steamrolled through the second set winning 25-7, and cruised 25-16 in the third. Elise Brogan had 11 kills to lead the Warriors. Sarah Arvidson added 10 assists while Ava Bakhtyari added 8 blocks.  Today…
