Defending Champs Continue Impressive Winning Streak

Coming off an undefeated, State-Championship season, Andover field hockey has outscored its opponents 22-0 through four games this season.

Someone would have to search back an entire calendar year to find the last time the Andover High School field hockey team lost a game. The Warriors went 24-0 last season to capture the Division 1 state title over Algonquin, and have started the 2011 season 4-0. The latest win in the series came against Manchester-Essex at home on Wednesday night, 5-0. Less than two-minutes into the game, Andover’s Meagan Keefe took a pass from Jacklyn Torres and slid home the first goal to put the Warriors up 1-0. Then it was like the field was tilted toward the Hornets goal. Andover began to put the pressure on the M-E defenders, who could not manage to get the ball past midfield. Keefe struck again 4:55 into the first half, after trading swipes with …

The Andover High School baseball and softball teams combined for a season record of 21-21. Let’s take a look at how they did on their report cards. Baseball Unfortunately for Dan Gram’s squad, the highlight of the season may have come in the very first game. Way back on April 7, the Warriors traveled to North Andover and took out the Scarlet Knights 11-8. Despite Andover being in Division 1 and North Andover being in Division 2, North Andover played the heavy favorite. Andover’s ace Jon Levinson did not have his best game but the Warriors managed to put enough runs on the board to win. That was North …

Their desire and determination made for a historic season in which the Warriors went 27-1. Let's take a look back at the incredible playoff run that Andover had in 2011. March 19, 2011 - State Championship vs. Amherst at DCU Center Andover survived a scare from Amherst and their six-foot tall center Forbasaw Nkambo to win their second straight title. State Title Preview: Andover and Amherst Tangle Tomorrow

Andover Patch will feature another live blog during tomorrow's state title game from DCU Center while Andover seeks the state title for the second year in a row.

Just over one year ago, a dedicated and determined group of girls from Andover High School proved to be the very best girls basketball team in the state. Can they do it again? Tomorrow the Lady Warriors will play for the state title at the DCU Center once again with a chance to make Andover the girls hoops capital of the Commonwealth for the second consecutive year. “You’ve just got to give them a lot of credit for getting back to the DCU Center two years in a row,” said Warriors head coach Jim Tildsley after Andover won their state semifinal against New Bedford. These girls don’t just win; they do it in style. Out of their 26 wins, 21 have come by a margin of ten points or more. At 5:45 tomorrow evening, the basketball Warriors from …

Andover Girls Top New Bedford, Advance to State Championship

Nicole Boudreau carried her team to a 54-46 win at TD Garden; she scored 28 points to will the Warriors into the state title game.

“We’re pretty cool under pressure,” said Warriors head coach Jim Tildsley after his squad earned a berth in the Division 1 State Championship game for the second year in a row. “We could have packed it in a couple times,” he said, but luckily for Warriors fans, Nicole Boudreau did not allow that to happen. In the second quarter, New Bedford was clinging to a four-point lead over the Warriors. Boudreau decided to take matters into her own hands. Boudreau teed up from NBA range to knock down a beautiful three pointer bringing Andover to within one at 19-18. The next time up the court, Boudreau launched another one from NBA range and got nothing but net to give Andover a 21-19 lead. “Those are NBA threes that she’s hitting,” said Tildsley. “…
