Andover Garden Club Membership Meeting and Landscape-Design Lecture, "Simplifying Gardens to Fit Our Lifestyles"

Change happens to all of us. Many still dream
of Better Homes and Gardens landscapes, but

reality has muddied the picture. Job demands,
kids and grandkids, money worries,
hectic
schedules, aging bodies, and changing interests
have led to garden nightmares. Nationally known
gardening expert and teacher Kerry Ann Mendez
believes it’s time
for some “editing.” In this
program, she will provide easy-to-follow downsizing
strategies, recommend no-fuss plant material, and
offer design tips for
stunning year-round gardens
that will be as close to autopilot as one can get.

Mendez is director of marketing for Faddegon's
Nursery, a premier garden center in Latham NY.
She is dedicated to teaching the
art of low-
maintenance perennial gardening and landscaping.
As a garden
consultant, designer, writer, teacher,
and lecturer, she focuses on time-saving
gardening
techniques and workhorse plants, as well as organic
practices. She
has been in numerous magazines,
including Horticulture
and Fine Gardening, and has
been a
featured guest on HGTV as well as local
television shows. A self-taught
gardener with more
than 25 years of experience, she is a "passionate
perennialist" who enjoys mixing humor with practical
information.

Founded in 1927, the Andover Garden Club is a
501(c)(3) charitable organization that encourages the
study and practice of
horticulture, landscape design,

of the town
of Andover; and helps protect and conserve natural
resources. A
member of the Garden Club Federation
of Massachusetts, Inc., and National
Garden Clubs, Inc.,
the club provides both financial and hands-on support to
a
variety of municipal, educational, and environmental
organizations throughout
the region. Information about
joining the Andover Garden Club is available from
